Sunrise @ The Lake

Keuka Lake in upstate NY - one of the Finger Lakes - where we have spent a good portion of the summer most of our lives.
The Lake. With a capital T and a capital L.

Brings to mind this poem:

The Lake Isle of Innisfree

William Butler Yeats

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee;
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight's all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet's wings.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

Meditaiton by Picasso

This painting is one of my favorites. I could stare at it for hours! There's the beauty of the light and shadow tones, combined with the powerful emotions that gaze conjures up. Also, it teaches the importance of attentiveness to the Now and being fully present. Pablo Picasso. (Spanish, 1881-1973). Meditation (Contemplation). (late 1904). Watercolor and ink on paper, 14 1/2 x 10 1/2" (36.9 x 26.7 cm). Louise Reinhardt Smith Bequest. © 2007 Estate of Pablo Picasso / Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York
